The Built For More small group study
Everything you need to walk a group through the book: a leader primer, eight session guides, and a printable handout for every week. Built so the work happens in the room, not just in the conversation.
You do not have to be a teacher to lead it. Each session gives you the questions, the timings, and one thing for your group to practice before you meet again.

How a night runs
Every session follows the same four beats, so your group knows what to expect by week two — and so you are never guessing what comes next.
15 min
Report
What happened when you tried last week's practice. This is the engine of the whole study.
15 min
The Turn
The one idea the chapters hinge on, with a passage read aloud.
25 min
The Lab
An exercise done in the room — on paper, out loud, in pairs.
5 min
The Assignment
One specific thing to practice before you meet again.
What the eight sessions cover
Session One needs no reading at all — most people will not have the book yet. From there it runs chapter by chapter, and ends by building a rhythm that outlasts the group.
- 1
Getting Started
No reading yet · handout: Get the Books · Contact Sheet · What We Are Agreeing To
Introductions, expectations, and the group covenant. Nobody needs the book yet — this is the night that makes the next seven work.
- 2
Something Happened
Chapters 1–2 · handout: Catch It
The gap between what we believe and how we actually react — and why that gap is not hypocrisy.
- 3
Why Do I Keep Doing This?
Chapters 3–4 · handout: Two Columns
The belief filter running underneath every reaction, and the relief of learning you are not the problem.
- 4
The Belief Upgrade
Chapters 5–6 · handout: The Belief Upgrade worksheet · The Three Moves pocket card
The six steps for retraining a belief, and why pressure exposes what is already there rather than creating it.
- 5
Four Pressures
The Interlude · handout: Run It
One shape, four costumes — the argument you have to win, the home that became a power struggle, the wound that became an identity, and life after addiction.
- 6
Who Do You Say That I Am?
Chapters 7–8 · handout: The Three Questions card
Why belief has to come before identity, and the three daily questions that quietly replace three filters.
- 7
The Cape in the Drawer
Chapter 9 + Field Guide · handout: Field Guide pocket reference
People do not need to see someone impressively whole. They need to see someone authentically broken who is being made whole.
- 8
Build the Rhythm
No new reading · handout: My Rhythm planner
Goes beyond the book: design a morning practice you will actually keep, and name the person who becomes your feedback loop once the group ends.
